Day 4

Donny woke us early at 7am so that we would have plenty of time to drive back into Dallas
airport.  We sadly said our goodbyes but we are so pleased to know that they are coming out
to Australia next May to visit us – can’t wait!
We had a hassle-free trip back into Dallas, returned the hire car, checked in and went
through the airport security with no delays and all hassle –free.  When we checked in, the
attendant even checked our bags through without charging us the $25 per bag luggage fee!
This all meant that we were able to spend a more relaxed time in the Admirals Club at the
airport having breakfast and coffee and cookies (the chocolate chip cookies were the best!).
We were honored with presence of John Voight (yes, Angelina’s dad!) in the Admirals Club.
I was a little bit self conscious about asking him for his photograph!

Denver Airport was a dream. We collected our Toyota Yaris from Hertz - the USA Yaris is a
lot larger than our Aussie Yaris. We headed north crossing into Wyoming and our first petrol
stop was at the small township of Wright.  In the car park we met a lovely lady named Susan
who was packing up for the night after selling beautiful organic fruits at her stall. She
loved our accents and gave us plums, pears, nectarines, peaches, and apples. They were DELICOUS!

We were amazed along the drive with the amount of wild deer that we saw and also the oil
rigs. It is very flat country side.  We stayed overnight at the Wingate hotel in the township
of Gillette.
