Well, we set off bright and early, leaving home at 7.30am for our 11am flight from Brisbane
to Los Angeles. We had breakfast in the Qantas Club after checking in and would you
believe it – one of our friends was on the same flight. Damon lives on the Gold Coast for
6 months of the year and the remainder of the year he lives in Costa Rica. Lucky lad!
We had a great flight across the Pacific – lots of meals and snacks onboard our Qantas
flight, great seats and arrived in LA right on time.
We went through immigration very speedily but waited ages for our bags.
We cleared customs and then left the Tom Bradley terminal and proceeded to the American
Airlines terminal next door. The line-up to go through security was unbelievably long and
we thought we would never get through! Luckily it was only a 20 – 30 minute wait and then
we were off to the Admirals Club to have a long and luxurious shower, a chai latte and a
couple of muffins before we board our AA flight to Dallas.
We missed lunch because we all slept on the flight to Dallas. After collecting our bags,
off for our hire car. They took pity on us when our bags wouldn’t fit in the car and we
were upgraded to a lovely black Chevrolet Cobalt LT. Tres Beaudy! We went to Chilis at
Denton for dinner. We then left for Donnie and Margaret's and they were very welcoming and
wonderful as always.
